Jet lag vs. Jet lead? :-)
Was up at 3:30 am this morning.....wide awake as in sparkly-eyes wide awake....as in just-taken-a-cold-shower-in-the-winter wide awake.....as in double-shot-of-expresso-with-no-sugar wide awake....oh well, you get the idea! ;-)
the first thought that popped into my stupid head at this unearthly hour (wonder what people mean by unearthly in the first place?) was why is Jet lag called Jet lag when traveling in either direction? shouldn't it be Jet lead one way and lag the other way around? next question - which direction is lag and which direction is lead? is it when you gain time or you lose time? Aaahhh, here's another one on the same topic....do you GAIN TIME AT ALL?
Here I was....forcing myself to STOP THINKING so that I could go back to sleep....but NOOOOO!!! my thoughts were speeding along like the damn SHINKANSENs that I was riding in just last week.....long story short, couldn't lie in bed beyond 4:30 am (which is my personal best wake up time- for the record).
Woke up, got ready and left home at 6:00 am. Listening to MS Subbulakshmi's 'Bhaja Govindham' with the sun rising and a cool breeze blowing was my only soul-redeeming highpoint of my day. If I have ever felt divinity in a voice, it has been ONLY hers....
